Christian L. Serdahl, MD

Cataract Surgeon

Dr.Serdahl is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz and UC Davis Medical School. He did his ophthalmology residency training in Sacramento at the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science at UC Davis. He practiced with Glenn W. Owens MD then for several years he was the chief ophthalmologist at the Med Clinic in Sacramento. In 2001 he left the Med Clinic for traditional private practice. In 2005 Dr. Serdahl joined Dr. Schermer to help with the surgical load. He has performed thousands of successful cataract operations using advanced microsurgical techniques. Dr. Serdahl serves as medical director for Vision Service Plan, he is active with the community clinics of Yolo County and he is past president of the local ophthalmology society, known as the ALTA society.

 

Beryl C. Bechtold, OD

Director of Contact Lens Services

Dr. Bechtold received her BS degree with honors and her Doctor of Optometry degree with distinction from Pacific University in Oregon. Dr. Bechtold is our Director of Contact Lens Services. She specialized in visual testing and corrective lenses. Dr. Bechtold has been working in the Sacramento area since 1980 and has been practicing in our office since 1983. She is a past president and an active member of the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society. In 1998, Dr. Bechtold was named the Society's Optometrist of the Year.

 

John D. Rogers, OD

Dr. Rogers received his Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York, New Paltz, and his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1979. He has been practicing Optometry in Sacramento since 1981, and he joined our practice in 2000. Dr. Rogers has extensive experience with almost all types of contact lenses, and he is an expert in determining the refractive properties of the eye. In his spare time, Dr. Rogers enjoys travel, golf, skiing and sailing.
