Laser vision correction surgery (including, but not limited to LASIK,
LTK and PRK) is an elective procedure that involves risk. Michael J. Schermer,
M.D., Inc. makes no guarantee or warranty regarding the results of laser
vision correction surgery.
The risk of complications from laser vision correction surgery is small,
but if it happens to you, then the incidence is 100%. While most patients
are delighted with the results of laser vision correction surgery, a small
percentage wishes they had not done it. Some people who have had laser
vision correction surgery still have to wear glasses or contact lenses
for driving even after the surgery. Some people have had complications
which have caused a delay in achieving good vision with the naked eye,
and some people have difficulty driving at night after having laser vision
correction surgery.
Give this decision serious thought. You are not going to get another set
of eyes. You must decide if the small but real risk of permanent vision
loss is worth the benefit of the surgery. Technology will improve. You
can always have the surgery later.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, photos and video images of people

of the photos and video images may or may not have actually had laser
vision correction surgery.
